Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project
Sourcing the materials to be used in the project
Measuring and cutting materials to specifications
Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together
Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints
Able to pass various welding certification tests
Works with conventional and precision measuring instruments
Performs process inspection, certification, and documentation
Maintains welding equipment through maintenance activities
Grinding and Finishing:
Skilled at grinding
Finishes product through us of various manual and power grinding tools
Performs routine maintenance on grinding equipment
Preferred and Required Qualification:
Education:
Preferred - High School / GED
Job Skills and Abilities:
Possess the practical / technical knowledge required to perform the job
Basic math ability and understanding of mechanical principles used in sheet
metal fabrication
