Assists with the installation of new system additions and turnkey systems for Security Service.
Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures.
Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
Performs field preventive maintenance on surveillance and card access systems.
Provides field hardware support on electronic controllers and other controlled devices.
Provides 24-hour hardware and software customer service support as needed.
Provides on-the-job training for Service Technician 1 and 2 positions and provides support to them as needed.
Conducts field testing of defective components.
Performs system start-up and troubleshooting of new and existing systems.
Maintains good housekeeping in the service shop.
Performs quarterly inventory of in-house and truck stock.
Completes necessary PM, work ticket, material list, credits and requisition paperwork to support field work.
Communicates with equipment representatives as needed to solve problems.
Provides limited front-end software assistance to customers.
Job Qualifications Education & Skills: High school diploma or equivalent; post high school education in related field desirable as well as 3-4 years hands-on experience.
Easily interprets electrical, mechanical and control drawings, specifications and schematics.
Ability to organize and administer multiple tasks with good attention to detail.
In-depth knowledge of electrical trade and applicable electrical codes as they apply to electrical and security related work.
Must be confident, decisive and self-motivated.
Strong trouble-shooting skills and the ability to work unsupervised as needed.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work a frequently changing schedule to meet customer demands.
Physical Requirements: Working a minimum of 40 hours/week, scheduled in 8 to 10-hour shifts Standing and climbing 4 to 6 hours/day Kneeling, lifting, reaching above shoulders, and bending 4 to 5 hours/day Twisting (180° ) and walking 2 to 3 hours/day Squatting and sitting 1 to 2 hours/day Lifting weights of 0 to 75 lbs.
at the following frequencies: continuous lifting of 10 to 35 lbs.
; frequent lifting of 35 to 50 lbs.
; occasional lifting of 50 to 75 lbs.
; sizes & shapes of objects vary from concrete blocks to cylinders to 10’ lengths of metallic conduit and 20' lengths of PVC conduit; average carry requirements, 60 lbs.

; and fine motor coordination for receptacle installation and wire terminations Repetitive use of feet is required for operating heavy equipment, conduit benders and vertical climbing Vision adequate for blueprint reading and color coding for wire identification Balance adequate for continuous climbing of ladders, scaffolds, and lifts Environmental factors include working in: temperature extremes of 0° F to 100° F; up to 8 hours inside or outside; atmospheric exposure to dust, gases, fumes, and odors within the Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL).
Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and potentially explosive hazards Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, protected-toe boots, and appropriate gloves for the task.
