Position Overview
The Controls Engineer will provide technical expertise in machine automation and electrical systems.
Driving continuous improvement in electrical systems and process controls to enhance mills operating efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Complies with all safety policies and procedures.
Stays current with national code standard and other regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical equipment to help meet production goals.
Troubleshoot and maintain three (3) phase electrical systems, plus PLC system daily.
Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical equipment to help meet production goals.
Troubleshoot and maintain three (3) phase electrical systems, plus PLC system daily.
Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Assemble and test experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids and other electrical equipment and components.
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Works closely with production departments and attends regularly schedule meetings scheduled with production management.
Upgrade and tune control systems to improve equipment performance.
Assist in developing data acquisition and reporting.
Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.

Qualifications
3-5 years of Industrial Electrician or Maintenance Technician experience with a strong background in PLCs
PLC and HMI programming experience
Proven track record of electrical equipment troubleshooting repair and installation
Experience in developing mill standards and implementing best practices in electrical department a plus
