THIS ROLE REQUIRES RELOCATION TO TOHATCHI, NM PLUS 6 MONTHS EXPERIENCE WORKING FOR THE INDIAN HEALTH SERVICE
Location: Tohatchi Health Care Center @ Tohatchi, New Mexico
Time Commitment: 40 hours per week on a Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm schedule
Start Date: May 2024 or later (flexible depending on availability)
Other Details: Medical providers supporting the Tohatchi Health Care Center often live in nearby Gallup, NM which is a town of 21,000 known for its iconic Red Rock Park and for being a center of Native American culture.
Gallup is on historic Route 66 about halfway between Albuquerque and Flagstaff, which are both within driving distance for easy day trips.

*Minimum Qualifications:*

· CV or Resume reflecting at least 6 months experience supporting the Indian Health Service as a pharmacist
· Degree from an accredited pharmacy program
· Current and unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in any US state, DC, or Puerto Rico
· Current certifications in BLS, PALS and ACLS
· Driver’s License
*Job Description:*
· Dispense medications accurately and efficiently.
· Evaluate medication use patterns and outcomes.
· Assess drug therapy appropriateness and dosing.
· Screen for medication interactions and contraindications.
· Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
· Manage controlled substances securely.
· Answer phone inquiries and interact with patients and colleagues professionally.
· Participate in administrative, consultative, and staff advisory activities.
· Plan, monitor, and evaluate medication programs.

The Tohatchi, New Mexico Health Center is located in the Southeastern portion of the Navajo Nation approximately 40 miles North of Gallup, New Mexico.
The Tohatchi facility provides 40 hour per week ambulatory care for approximately 8,000 nearby residents.
The facility is staffed by four physicians and specialty clinics are operated by consultant staff from the Gallup Indian Medical Center.
In addition to pediatrics, internal medicine and family medicine, services provided include pharmacy, physical therapy, x-ray, laboratory, public health nursing, optometry, dental, and health education.
Inpatient cases are referred to the nearby Gallup Indian Medical Center.
