Pediatric Dentists are responsible for the evaluation and treatment of pediatric dental patients.
They have completed the required education and licensing to see pediatric patients from infants to adolescents.
Pediatric Dentists are expected to be detailed oriented, have a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
The primary responsibilities will include:
Providing oral health education to parents and children in a clear and concise manner
Diagnosing and treating tooth decay
Creating treatment plans
Completing preventative and restorative tooth treatments to include (but not limited to): dental sealants, silver diamine flouride, composite restorations, stainless steel crowns, pulp therapy, zirconia crowns, and extractions
Handling patient behavior including some patients with special needs
Providing and overseeing oral conscious sedation when necessary
Providing excellent customer service
Qualifications, Competencies, and Strengths:
Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine
Completion of Pediatric Residency program
Demonstrate professionalism with patients and staff
Experience in using an electronic charting software
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
