Hi there! How do you do.
*Must be able to:
-Lift and carry two of the 5-gallon buckets full of water
-Bend down, and kindly but firmly get hold of, and hold, an 8-ish pound male Pekin duck and carry him to his pen about 10 feet away (he's not mean to humans, just scared).
On our homestead-in-progress, We have 4 chickens (no roosters) and 3 ducks (two are males).
Chickens are Cream Legbar.
One male duck is White Pekin, 2 are mallards
It would mean a lot to me if you could start pet sitting on Thursday, 11/30, so I can see the way you operate before we leave.
There will be 1 tenant present on the days you are pet sitting, but I don't want to bother them with pet sitting, so I didn't ask them to do it.
Your tasks involve letting the chickens and ducks out at 9:00 AM (time is slightly negotiable), bringing their food out and setting it in certain places (I will show you in person), washing out their water containers and refilling and placing in certain places (I will show you in person), and putting them and their food and water away at 6:00 PM (time is slightly negotiable).
Washing out their water containers is a 1-minute job, you just use the same hose in the yard that you use to fill their water.
The regular daily routine requires that you handle 1 duck, once a day.
The 1 big male duck we have should be picked up (kindly, but firmly over his wings, so he doesn't flap them in your face and jump from your grasp), and placed in the small pen under the giant tree (I'll show you in person, it's easy to understand once you're here).
After dark, the chickens gather by the door to be let in.
You have to use a headlamp to walk behind the ducks and get them inside their coop, which we can provide.
I know this is a bit last-minute, so I’m willing to negotiate on the price.
Thank you!!
