Infant Teacher
Job Description
Job Summary:
As an Infant Teacher at Evergreen Academy Preschool, you play a crucial role in nurturing and fostering the growth and development of infants in our care.
Your primary responsibility is to create a safe, loving, and educational environment that supports each child's individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Infant Care: Provide gentle and attentive care for infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining a consistent daily routine.
2.
Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities to promote early childhood development, including sensory experiences, tummy time, and social interaction.
3.
Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring that all state licensing regulations and quality standards are met.
4.
Parent Communication: Establish open and effective communication with parents, providing daily updates and fostering a positive partnership in the child's development.
5.
Observation and Assessment: Regularly observe and document each child's progress and development, addressing any concerns or milestones with parents and supervisors.
6.
Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in infant care and early childhood education through training and professional development opportunities.
7.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members, including fellow teachers and support staff, to ensure a well-rounded and nurturing childcare environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is a plus.
- At least 1 year work experience working in a preschool setting
- Previous experience working with infants in a childcare or preschool setting.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain it).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with infants.
