This is a Part-Time Seasonal position.
Morning availability required most working days.
Some weekend availability required.
Arizona Snowbowl is open on weekends and holidays and availability to work during those times is preferred.
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for daily revenue audits, assisting with vault responsibilities, and monthly closing duties.
Verify and audit daily business reports for tickets, ski school, retail, rental, and food & beverage.
Prepare and input journal entries into the general ledger software as necessary.
Produce daily reports for revenue, skier count, and snow reports.
Assist with revenue monthly reconciliations for accounting and management.
Count cash and report vault/cash balances at the beginning and end of each business day.
Essential Functions:
Verify and audit daily revenue reports for tickets, ski school, lodging, retail, rental, and food & beverage
Identify and correct discrepancies in the audit process to be reviewed with the appropriate department supervisor, manager or director.
These responsibilities require extensive problem solving skills and diplomatic communication skills.
Prepare and input journal entries and produce daily reports for revenue, skier count, room nights, and snow reports.
Assist with month end closing of the books, including journal entries, account reconciliations
Provide change for all locations on mountain
Receive and log bank bags with cash
Count cash revenue received from departments and balance to department reports through SiriusWare software
Prepare bank deposit for security transport
Balance vault and prepare change order
Research and respond to credit card chargebacks
Assist with special projects
Provide any additional assistance to the accounting department as needed
Education / Training / License(s) / Certification(s) Requirements:
Accounting or business degree preferred
Experience Requirements:
At least 6 months experience in accounting/bookkeeping environment with strong computer skills
Physical Requirements:
100% of the work day is spent indoors, in a normal office environment.
80% of the work day is spent sitting
10% of the work day is spent standing
10% of the work day is spent walking
Competencies Required:
Technology proficient, G-Suite, Microsoft Office, 10 key
Knowledge of accounting principles
Experience in general ledger account reconciliations
Ability to build and understand Excel spreadsheets
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Applicant must be detail-oriented
Work Environment:
Occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
Constantly engaging in group work/problem solving.
Constant use of a computer keyboard and 10 key.
Occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching is necessary.
Travel Required:
Reliable transportation to and from work year-round.
Chains or 4-wheel drive required for winter season.
